Cebu Pacific is a Philippine discount airline. The airline was founded in 1988, making it Asia's oldest low-cost airline. Currently, Cebu Pacific flies its customers to 63 different destinations around the world. If you have recently taken a flight with Cebu Pacific Airlines and find that your baggage is missing or damaged, keep reading for the details on what you should do next.

File a Property Irregularity Report at the Airport

If you have received damaged baggage, or your baggage has not arrived, you will need to file a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) at the airport. It's important that you file this claim before you leave the airport. If you have already left the airport, it's best to call the Cebu Airline customer service line. However, note that the airline may not be liable for compensation if you have already left the airport. For example, they cannot determine that damaged luggage was damaged on the flight and not after you left the airport.

Locate a Cebu Pacific Airlines service desk at the airport and ask for the form. The form will include your contact information, and Cebu Pacific Airlines will reach out to you with updates. Ask for a copy of the form for your own records.

  • If the baggage is delayed, you may be eligible for some compensation if you aren't a resident of your destination.

  • If your baggage is damaged, an investigation will take place to determine if the damage is the fault of the airline. If it's determined to be due to the actions of Cebu Pacific Airlines, the customer may be compensated based on the Phillippines Air Passenger Bill of Rights.

  • If the baggage is lost, the airline will attempt to locate it over the next seven days. After seven days, the baggage is considered lost and the customer will be compensated for every day the baggage was missing. If lost baggage is found, Cebu Pacific will make reasonable efforts to deliver the luggage to the customer at no additional transportation fees.
